Plano, IL – Come through its generous SideStepTM entry doors. Sit down on its comfy and practical Combo-Case Bench. Stay and catch fish all day long in complete comfort.
New for the 2016/2017 ice fishing season, Frabill’s Model 3455 Citadel Shelter brings an additional and exciting combination of options to the company’s popular line of roomy, flip-over ice fishing shelters introduced last season. The expanded Citadel Series now includes three distinct models offering anglers two different Modular Seating System (MSS) options and two insulation choices. Veritable ice castles, these large and well-appointed shelters comfortably fish up to three anglers and feature exceptionally strong, lightweight alloy frames, tough thermo-formed sled bases, and space-maximizing SideStepTM entry.
“The new Model 3455 Citadel is being added to this year’s lineup due to increased angler interest in large, fully-insulated shelters,” says Plano Synergy Director of Brand Management – Fishing, Ryan Olander, who also points to the growing popularity of the company’s Combo-Case Bench seating option as an additional consideration. “Sales have shown the Combo-Case Bench to be one of the top MSS seating options released last year, so we’ve incorporated it into the new fully-insulated Model 3455, while keeping it in place on the non-insulated Model 3405 Citadel.”
Dual SideStep entry doors are standard on all Citadel models. Rather than cutting in a door on the front of the shelter (creating an obstacle course while entering and exiting), Frabill intuitively places large zippered doors on each side. It’s a common-sense solution that simplifies in-and-out access and minimizes the risk of stepping on gear or into fishing holes. The feature also allows for a vertical front wall design that creates additional headroom, allows for unrestricted hook sets, reduces the possibility of heater damage, and unlocks the full potential of the Citadel family’s massive 28.5 square feet of fishable space.
Angler preference is something Frabill takes seriously – a fact that’s made outwardly obvious in the company’s approach to shelter seating. Indeed, Frabill offers more ice shelter seating options than anyone else in the industry, and the comfortable and highly practical Combo-Case Bench gets the nod in the new Model 3455 Citadel. This smart and efficient two-person seating option places a padded, hard-wearing, cordura-covered bench seat and integral backrest atop a heavy-duty, molded case providing secure, padded and lockable storage for rod and reel combos and other accessories below.
As Olander points out, the new Citadel Model 3455 features full, quilted insulation in it’s 600D walls and roof – something anglers will certainly appreciate while waiting out roaming schools of walleyes or actively plucking panfish from productive weedbeds.
