Crazy For Crappies video captures imagination of young anglers with its peer-to-peer format.

Forestville, WI (January 9, 2023) – Designed to help youth more easily enter the ranks of active anglers, the non-profit Future Angler Foundation (FAF), in conjunction with Into The Outdoors Education Network, offers a series of free educational fishing videos designed to capture the imagination of elementary, middle-school, and high school youth. “Crazy for Crappies” showcases the series 30-minute television format and is perfect for family viewing while shorter custom video segments, complete with lesson plans, are ideal for sharing in classroom settings.

In Crazy for Crappies, middle school host, Kevin, is joined by his aunt and a local fishing guide as the trio set out in search of some slab specks. Along the way they discuss finding ideal crappie habitat, life cycle, feeding preferences, specific fishing techniques and catch and release practices while also touching on the importance of sustainable and ethical fishing, ecology, and being a good caretaker for planet earth. The episode concludes with an old-fashioned lakeside fish fry.

“At FAF, we strive to introduce the public to the joys and thrills of fishing and boating through our extensive educational, promotional and grass roots efforts,” says the non-profit organization’s president, Patrick Neu. “We are laser-focused on our mission to help recruit, retain, and reactivate recreational anglers and boaters. Through our series of fun, focused and highly informative peer-hosted videos, we’re reaching out to the next generation of potential anglers and making it easier for them to come on board.”
