Northland Fishing Tackle® Pro Brian “Bro” Brosdahl Takes Roadshow Virtual

Facebook Live to Feature 12 “College of Ice” Episodes in November and December

BEMIDJI, Minn. (October 27, 2020) – After decades working the circuit of mom and pop baitshops to big box retailers across the Ice Belt, Brian “Bro” Brosdahl will be taking his renowned ice fishing tour online. Thanks to the magic of Facebook Live, anglers across the country will have the opportunity to interface with some of the most knowledgeable ice fishing personalities in the business via Frabill’s sponsored “College of Ice”. From ice fishing legend Bro, to seasoned guides to factory and retail experts, there will be no shortage of brainpower to field your ice fishing questions.

“Traditionally, the Bro Roadshow has been a kind of grassroots retail consumer outreach to show them I’m there for them, as are the companies I represent. It’s always been like a family reunion of fishing folks because I’d meet people and hear their stories and help them out by suggesting techniques they should try and equipment to buy. But with COVID, that’s put a damper on traditional travel and seminar schedule. So, really, what’s better right now than a virtual roadshow? I went to Chris Russell at Frabill and I wanted to do something virtual, which he also wanted to do. So, he spearheaded the “College of Ice” concept. He’s a big fan of Northland Fishing Tackle so Northland is a big part of it as well,” says Brosdahl.

Bro will be talking in depth about Northland gear like the new Glo-Shot® Fire Belly Spoon and Rattlin’ Puppet Minnow®, in addition to the company’s wealth of panfish lures, including Bro’s namesake collection and Northland’s advanced Impulse® attractant bodies.

“The College of Ice is going to be a little different than the original Bro Roadshow,” notes Bro. “It’s kind of special. With my cohost Frabill pro Steve Pennaz, we can visit with a lot of people from a safe social distance and talk about ice fishing techniques and what to use as well as where to get the gear. We’re going to feature experts and pros from the eastern and western states, too, and factory folks from companies including Northland, Aqua-Vu, Mossy Oak and others. So, it’s going to be a mix of fishing pros, company designers and engineers, as well as representatives from the stores where you can buy the stuff”.

We’re going to have Northland pro Eric Brandriet sharing his vibe on South Dakota, Dale Stroschein, Kristine Fischer, and Kevin VanDam is going to be a guest; he likes to ice fish. Plus, a whole host of others too numerous to mention. It’s going to be fun,” claims Bro.

Most weeks in November and December there will be two “College of Ice” shows. There are 12 shows total, all live streaming on Facebook Live so Bro and company can answer questions in real-time. “The grassroots feel from the old Bro Roadshow is still there because of Facebook Live,” adds Brosdahl.

That said, there promises to be great subjects popping up, giving the opportunity for ice anglers to learn skills to catch more fish on the ice. Bro says they will be covering everything from panfish to walleyes and trout, including other species like sturgeon and big pike. Whatever your favorite species, you’ll learn from this host of renowned ice fishing experts.

As an extra bonus, anglers will have multiple chances to win awesome gear. One prize winner will be selected each episode.

The “Bro” Road Show becomes the “College of Ice”. Tune in and learn from the masters, November 4 through the end of December.

ABOUT Northland® Fishing Tackle

In 1975, a young Northwoods fishing guide named John Peterson started pouring jigs and tying tackle for his clients in a small remote cabin in northern Minnesota. The lures were innovative, made with high quality components, and most importantly, were catching fish when no other baits were working! Word spread like wildfire, the phone started ringing… and the Northland Fishing Tackle® brand was in hot demand! For 40 years now, John and the Northland® team have been designing, testing and perfecting an exclusive line of products that catch fish like no other brand on the market today. Manufactured in the heart of Minnesota’s finest fishing waters, Northland® is one of the country’s leading producers of premium quality jigs, live bait rigs, spinnerbaits and spoons for crappies, bluegills, perch, walleyes, bass, trout, northern pike and muskies.

ABOUT Bagley Bait Company

The personality of any company comes from its founder. Jim Bagley was an inventive, fun-loving, passionate fisherman who became one the most respected legends in the fishing tackle industry. In late 2010, Jarmo Rapala and a group of investors bought Bagley Bait Company. As an admirer of Jim Bagley for his attention to quality and of his product ingenuity and innovation, Jarmo initiated significant changes in operations, enhanced production processes and quality control. Now in 2020, Northland® Fishing Tackle, along with Jarmo as its Chief Lure Designer, maintain the legacy of creating premium balsa crankbaits and topwater lures, as well as jigs and spoons for both freshwater and saltwater anglers.
