LIVETARGET’s New Flutter Sardine Redefines Saltwater Spoon Technology
Incorporating new Injected Core Technology™ (ICT), this cutting edge jigging spoon offers exceptional saltwater versatility.
Niagara-on-the-Lake, ON (July 5, 2019) – Ushering in a new era of technology, LIVETARGET introduces its new Flutter Sardine. This innovative lure behaves like a traditional jigging spoon but has the narrow profile of a common Sardine or minnow. Featuring the Company’s new Injected Core Technology™ (ICT), it showcases a Sardine profile while maintaining the jigging spoon action creating a combination unrivalled in the industry.

The traditional metal stamping process used to manufacture a typical jigging spoon is necessary to create the action but markedly unnatural in appearance, making game fish wary.
Injected Core Technology™ enables the Inner-Core to host a life-like baitfish profile, while the Exo-Skin gives the lure its signature flutter action. The metallic Inner-core also produces bright, strobe-like flash that is highly attractive, especially in saltwater.
From diamond jigs to bucktails and various spoons, saltwater anglers love to jig. It’s no wonder when, you consider these lures can be worked anywhere in the water column, slice through strong currents, and crush the fish once you find them.
Of course, the downside of saltwater jigs is that most rely on a rough profile or random action to spark the bite. Difficult to control with any accuracy once lowered into the depths, many sport rudimentary paint schemes or chrome coating – if they have any finish at all. Imagine what these lures could do with a truly life-like appearance and refined action that actually matches the look, feel and movements of real live baitfish?
Enter the new LIVETARGET Flutter Sardine. Never before has there been a jigging spoon this anatomically accurate, this realistic-looking or with such unique action. Constructed with saltwater-grade hooks and tasked to tempt everything briny from snook, trout, stripers, redfish and summer flounder to black sea bass, snapper, grouper and a multitude of other predatory species, these lures launch a new era of jigging spoon design.
Just look at the Flutter Sardine and you’ll instantly recognize there’s a difference in appearance from traditional jigs. The driving force behind this refreshing new look is Injected Core Technology (ICT). Featuring an exceptionally life-like Inner-Core Sardine profile surrounded by a clear plastic Exo-Skin that drives the lure’s impressive action, the Flutter Sardine closely mimics baitfish in every detail from dark eyes and gill slits to scaled bodies and graduated color patterns. Look closely as it slides throughout the water column and see how it perfectly mimics a sardine, spearing, sand eel or similar-profiled rain bait species.
While the Flutter Sardine is easily identifiable by its realistic good looks, plenty of effort has also been expended to ensure its success while under fire. The Exo-Skin, virtually invisible underwater, is produced with an advanced plastic that has a slight pliability to make it ultra-durable. Lift and drop the lure to create a falling shimmy action or snap the rod tip on the retrieve to impart a twitching action. Either retrieve produces a pulsating flash.
The Flutter Sardine falls two different ways: it has a rolling shimmy or flutter (side-to-side) action and a cradle (front-to-back) action. Both produce vibrant metallic flashes.
One of the most significant advantages of ICT is the ratio of plastic between the Inner-Core and Exo-Skin. The Inner-Core is much smaller than the overall cubic mass of the entire lure. That means anglers can present a smaller hatch size but still have the advantages of throwing a bigger bait. The Exo-Skin adds 30% more clear plastic which adds more weight, enabling anglers to cast farther and feel more direct contact with the lure. For the first time ever, anglers can fish smaller hatches for big bites.
The feathered treble hook creates drag and is held in an ideal strike position when falling. Inactive fish in cold or warm water temperatures will often eat the feather hook, as they are attracted to the shimmy of the lure but too lethargic to strike aggressively, thus producing bonus bites in ultra-difficult conditions.

There certainly are plenty of applications for the Flutter Sardine to excel in coastal angling situations. For starters, you can fish it in open water around schools of rain bait, or allow it to swing in the current and shimmy near bridge stanchions, pilings, docks or bulkheads. It can be used on shallow flats and inside bays and inlets to probe from the surface to the bottom on a single cast, and it can be worked deep around structure and ledges where you just never know which beast will strike next.
The new LIVETARGET Flutter Sardine comes in five weights to meet a variety of saltwater fishing applications: ⅜ oz/11 g; ½ oz/14 g; ¾ oz/21 g; 1 oz/28 g; 1 ½ oz/42 g, as well as six realistic forage-matching colors. The LIVETARGET Flutter Sardine comes in a pack of one with an MSRP of $9.99 USD.
