Rogers, Minn. (November 11, 2024) — MN-FISH just added five new board members, building on the organization’s ability to carry the voices of the state’s diverse angling population to the state capitol and DNR.
In recent years, MN-FISH has made big strides on behalf of Minnesota anglers and the businesses that serve them. In 2023, MN-FISH successfully convinced the state legislature to invest $98.1 million to rebuild or update outdated hatcheries, modernize public water access and shore fishing locations throughout the state. Similarly, the organization raised $12 million for the construction of an invasive carp barrier on the Mississippi River to stop their upstream migration into other state waters.
Recent news of five new board members with diverse talents and backgrounds promises an even stronger organization for the remainder of 2024 into 2025.
“We had a number of great candidates interested in the MN-FISH mission, so like the rest of the organization, I’m incredibly excited to work with these people,” said MN-FISH president Ron Schara.
“It’s always good to introduce new perspectives and work with people who are anxious to get more involved in making our state’s fishing even better. We had a few resignations of seasoned board members and that helped open the door for new and fresh ways of approaching the state’s angling-related topics.”
