Minelab Announces Next-Generation Multi-Frequency Technology

New high-power Multi-IQ+ helps metal-detecting hobbyists and treasure-hunting professionals find and discriminate targets in the ground better and easier than ever

Chicago, IL (September 20, 2022) – Metal detectors used to work on a single frequency. That means one could typically find a limited range of metals at one time. Then, switchable multi-frequency detectors were introduced that allowed detectorists to find multiple types of treasure. The only problem was that treasure hunters needed to know in advance what they were looking for.

For the first time ever, detectorists could use breakthrough Minelab Multi-IQ Technology in powerful VANQUISH and EQUINOX detectors to find any metal in any soil at any time.

Next-Generation Minelab Technology

Today, Minelab announces its newest-generation Simultaneous Multi-Frequency engine: Multi-IQ+. Building on the successes and capabilities of its original Multi-IQ technology, Multi-IQ+ transmits more power through the coil at an even wider range of operating frequencies. The result? Better and more accurate detection of even more targets in the ground.

Multi-IQ+ employs completely revamped signal processing to deliver enhanced discrimination, greater target ID resolution and improved target separation. It also gives detectorists a greater ability to fine-tune discrimination and audio signaling to best suit the detecting conditions at hand. What’s more, Multi-IQ+ remains beautifully simple to use, providing a graphical target trace visualization of target responses on a two-dimensional Target ID map. Ultimately, these visual tools give detectorists better information to help them decide when it’s time to dig or time to move on.

Next-generation high-power Multi-IQ+ technology will be available on Minelab’s all-new MANTICORE metal detector, coming to Minelab dealers worldwide next month.
