Daiwa Promotes Marc Mills To Senior Marketing Manager

In his new capacity Mills will oversee marketing direction for Daiwa North America and its team

Cypress, CA (January 20, 2022) – Daiwa is excited to announce the promotion of Marc Mills from Marketing Field Representative to Senior Marketing Manager.

Daiwa President Carey Graves comments: “Marc has been in the fishing industry basically since he could walk, starting his career off at Dana Wharf Sportfishing working the boats, then managing their retail operations. After his time at Dana Wharf he gravitated to working for some of the most influential manufacturers and rep groups within the industry and has grown to become not just a leader within Daiwa but one of the most influential spokesman/marketers within the entire fishing industry.”

Carey continues: “In his new role, Marc will be responsible for managing and setting the marketing direction for all of American Daiwa (North & South American) and managing a talented team of marketers in the areas of traditional, digital and field marketing.”

Mills is excited to take on the new position and all that entails. “After over thirty plus years of serving many different aspects of my career passion in the fishing industry, I am truly honored as well by this recent move. It’s the accomplishment of a dream of mine to become Senior Marketing Manager of a global fishing company. I am grateful for this opportunity to serve Daiwa and our many customers in this exciting journey,” remarks Mills.

Also of note for the Daiwa corporation is the semi-retirement for Marketing Manager Curt Arakawa. “I’ve been working for Daiwa for many years and I’m semi-retiring so I’ll still be around three days a week. People will still be able to get in touch with me. When you get older in your life sometimes you have to stop and smell the roses. As I’ve gotten older I’ve wanted to slow down a bit and enjoy some of the things I love about this industry, namely fishing itself. I will still be a part of the work it’s taken to bring Daiwa the success it’s experienced and help transition Marc Mills into his new role as Senior Marketing Manager. I will work in the capacity of supporting Marc to keep the Daiwa momentum going and to keep the company growing—only parttime.”
