DAIWA Continues Walleye Rod Series Rollout

New TD EYE Walleye Series showcased at the Wisconsin Fishing Expo

FOOTHILL RANCH, CA (February 19, 2024) – When in Wisconsin, walleye fishing is always top of mind. And to be ready for the season opener, anglers attending the upcoming Wisconsin Fishing Expo at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison can look forward to checking out the new DAIWA TD EYE walleye rods now being offered. The Expo is serving as the DAIWA crew’s next stop in its official introduction of this new rod series to anglers throughout the Midwest.

SPOTLIGHT ON TD EYE

Along with the unveiling of the new TD Eye walleye rod series, touring walleye pro Tom Huynh will be part of the DAIWA show efforts to talk and answer questions about them in the booth, along with being part of the Expo seminar schedule on Saturday and Sunday – February 24 and 25.

Comprised of a 17-model lineup including spinning, casting, and trolling rods, the TD EYE series is engineered with signature DAIWA technologies like High Volume Fiber (HVF) and X45 Bias construction technology within the rod blanks, its MEGA TOP tip on TD EYE 7’6” trolling along with two spinning rods, and FUJI Fazlite K-Guides on all rods. There are both one- and two-piece spinning rods in the lineup.

Huynh points out two rods he is anxious to use this coming season on the National Walleye Trail. In early season events, he’ll be using the telescoping TD EYE 7’6” (TDEYE76TMRB) casting rod with DAIWA’s unique MEGA TOP soft tip section blank, offering exceptional sensitivity so you can both feel and see subtle bites when using lighter swimbaits and blade baits.

As the season progresses, Huyng will put his forward-facing sonar skills to use, saying “the TD EYE 6’3” spinning rod (TDEYE631MLXS) will be my go-to target shooting rod where I can rely on the rod’s short length to make quick, accurate casts when I see a walleye. That first cast means so much and offers you a great advantage to hook into a big one.” Both of Huynh’s seminars at the Expo will focus on forward-facing sonar fishing techniques.

“Anglers throughout the Midwest, and especially in Wisconsin, may have noticed DAIWA’s emphasis on new tackle for walleye, smallmouth, and musky anglers over the past few years,” said DAIWA’s field marketing specialist Chris Martin. “Along with the new TD EYE rods, we’ll also be showcasing the recently introduced Fuego LT spinning reels in sizes perfect for the TD EYE rods, PROREX XT musky rods and PROREX levelwind line-counter reels, plus the new Tatula Elite AGS bass rods with models designed by B.A.S.S. Elite pros Seth Feider and the Johnston brothers for Midwest smallmouth techniques.”

All TD EYE models retail for $129.99 (USD).
