Why wool? It’s exceedingly warm. But there are drawbacks, too. Wool jackets and pants are stiff as cardboard and there’s nary any breathability, sweat compounding with every step. Moreover, pure wool is a scent trap, hunters transporting campfire aroma and leaving a vapor trail of sizzling bacon.

Blocker Marketing Director and whitetail aficionado, Steve Allie says, “It looks like wool, feels like wool, but hunts like premium, modern hunting outerwear.” At the epicenter of the new Wooltex Pro Jacket and Pant is a wool and poly fleece blend, yielding that nostalgic woolen look, but with an even better feel.

On the inside, you’ll appreciate its poly grid fleece interior. Not only is it exceptionally comfortable, but the grid texture also lets air through the channels to generate heat. “Air is the best insulator,” notes Steve.
Expertly sandwiched between the wool/poly fleece exterior and poly grid fleece interior is Blocker’s heralded WindBlocker® windproof membrane. WindBlocker is a high performance laminate system that blocks the wind while allowing moisture and perspiration to escape from the inside, leaving you warm and comfortable when gales curl through the trees.

Additionally, the Wooltex Pro Jacket and Pant employ Blocker’s advanced S3® anti-microbial finish to minimize odors caused by moisture buildup. The famed S3® treatment’s silver ions bind to and penetrate the surface of odor-causing bacteria on contact. Silver ions disrupt the microbe’s DNA, preventing the formation of odor.
Tailormade for mid- to late-season hunts, the Wooltex Pro Jacket features an adaptable, well-fitted three-way hood, as well as an adjustable waist to lock in the warmth. Three pockets – one chest and two waist – yield quick access to hunting essentials. And for safety’s sake, Blocker included a safety harness access port.

The Wooltex Pro Pant sports a six pocket storage system – two waist, two rear, and two cargo. Special rear waistband elastic provides a comfortable fit, standing, kneeling, or sitting. And the pant’s intelligently designed, articulated knees track with you while hiking in and out of the field. No walking like the Tin Man.
